Government

The City staff of 300 and a host of volunteers are dedicated to excellence and providing public services unsurpassed by any area on the Florida Suncoast. Elected officials include a mayor and five council members, who listen and work closely with citizens. Temple Terrace operates under the council-manager form of government, with its professional, independent administration and a staff committed to providing high-quality services. Police, fire, and emergency medical personnel are available 24 hours a day, and help is only 3 to 5 minutes away by dialing 9-1-1. The beautiful Temple Terrace public library has extensive resources, with a selection of over 92,000 holdings and 29 computers with internet access available to patrons.

The City has been working tirelessly with citizens over the last four years to craft a plan to redevelop an aging downtown shopping district in a 38-acre parcel in the southeast quadrant of the City. Plans include residential, retail, and greenspace areas that will be developed in the historic Mediterranean Revival style that is the hallmark of Temple Terrace. The Downtown Redevelopment Project is certain to provide many new opportunities for businesses and residents alike in this highly desirable community.
