Congratulations to our
2008 Ed Hanna Business of the Year
Owners:
Dr. Link V. Welborn, DABVP
Dr. Timothy P. Lassett, DABVP,
Practice Administrator:
Cassy Allbritton
Fifty years ago, in 1959, Dr. James R. Robinson opened the doors of the Temple Terrace Animal Hospital, which is still located at 5023 East Busch Blvd. Drs. Welborn and Lasset purchased the practice after Dr. Robinson died in 1991.
Temple Terrace Animal and Bird Hospital provides veterinary medical services, free pet taxi, boarding and grooming services. In 2008, the entire facility and grounds underwent an extensive addition and remodeling. The Temple Terrace facility is one of four veterinary hospitals owned by Drs. Welborn and Lasset in the Tampa Bay area.
By any measure, the hospital is successful. Not only have revenues doubled in the last four years, but several staff members have been added for a current total of 17. Temple Terrace Animal Hospital continually strives to offer more and better veterinary services to their “four-legged patients” and their owners.
In 2006, Dr. Link Welborn was recognized by the Florida Veterinary Medical Association being named “Veterinarian of the Year”. In 2007, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) selected him “Practitioner of the Year” for the entire United States. The University of Florida also selected Dr. Welborn to receive the “Alumni Achievement Award” in 2007.
Dr. Welborn started working at the hospital as a teenager (at the lowest level) and then went on to earn his Veterinary Medical degree from the University of Florida. He is a good example of the community spirit found in Temple Terrace.
