AMBASSADORS: Members of this committee act as the liaison between the chamber office and new members. New members are paired with an Ambassador whose duties are:
To meet new members one-on-one
To arrange for new members to attend luncheons and other functions
To assist new members with newsletter and website submissions
To advise new members of chamber functions and events
BUSINESS EXPO: Members of this committee coordinate this spring event that draws over 125 businesses and restaurants and over 2000 visitors. Members meet as needed. Duties are:
To solicit Business Expo participation
To arrange publicity for this event
To arrange event location
ED HANNA BUSINESS OF THE YEAR: The chamber recognizes the Business of the Year annually in January. This committee coordinates the nominations and works within a specific criteria to determine the winner of this award.
EDUCATION: Working with Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School, King and Tampa Bay Technical High Schools, private and public elementary and middle schools and the City of Temple Terrace, this committee coordinates and co-sponsors town meetings on education.
JULY 4th: This committee organizes Temple Terrace’s 4th of July parade and reception for its dignitaries. Members meet periodically from January to June, and then coordinate events, i.e. the luncheon for City Employees and evening festivities on the day of the event.
LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS: Keeps Chamber members up to date on any legislation that might impact them, as well as providing a public forum for political candidates in the membership voting precincts and districts.
MEDICAL HERO AWARD: The purpose of the Medical Hero Award is to provide a meaningful way to recognize and reward medical professionals who have demonstrated excellence within the healthcare industry and for their many contributions to the vibrancy of the Greater Temple Terrace community.
STUDENT CITIZENSHIP AWARDS: Coordinates the annual Students of the Year award in the Temple Terrace area public and private schools. A special luncheon to recognize a student from each of these schools is held in April.
YOUNG ELITE PROFESSIONALS: YEP is a young professionals group for individuals between the ages of 21-40. The focus of the group is networking, socializing and the opportunity to make connections with other young professionals in the greater Temple Terrace and surrounding areas.
WOMEN MEAN BUSINESS: WMB is a networking group for business women in the Greater Temple Terrace area. The purpose of Women Mean Business is to network and support businesses through bi-monthly networking event meetings.
DON’T SEE IT ON THIS LIST: The Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce is always looking for ways to provide more for its members. We are always interested in feedback…especially from our newest members.
